Family Advisory Council Homepage – These quarterly meetings provide a forum for DODD to hear from family members about the issues that affect their lives. This also provides an opportunity to learn more about DODD’s current initiatives from executive staff.
Core Group – This group of family members plans and leads the Family Advisory Council (FAC). Their purpose is to strengthen family collaboration, offer guidance and input to DODD, and take leadership roles during FAC meetings. New Core Group member selection happens annually through an application process.
Family Organization Forum – These quarterly meetings build channels of communication between DODD and family organizations to provide families with timely and accurate information.
Community of Practice for Supporting Families – These meetings, also known as COP, are a place to connect with other people using the Charting the LifeCourse framework to support Ohioans with disabilities and their families.
Family Forum Facebook Page – This Facebook group is a place Ohio families can talk about resources, programs, and ideas that they use to support someone with a disability. Search for “DODD Family Forum” on Facebook.

DODD Supporting Families Webpage – Visit the family homepage for a full array of information and resources broken into simple categories: Daily Life and Employment, Community Living, Social and Relationships, Healthy Living, Safety and Security, and Advocacy.
Family Resource Network of Ohio – The Family Resource Network of Ohio (FRNO) is a website where families discover various types of resources. Resources include agencies and providers, therapists, books, webinars, programs, calendar of events, and trainings, including Charting the LifeCourse.
Ohio Family Network – The Ohio Family Network (OFN) connects people with disabilities and their families to local information and resources within their communities. With a focus on the local level, OFN provides tools and support resources to help grow people's leadership and social skills. The network also offers opportunities for families to make connections with other local families.
Growing Family Resilience – DODD provides resources and tools to help people understand the role of trauma and learn techniques to be resilient through the Growing Family Resilience Module.
DODD Toolkits – This series of toolkits provide families with resources and information for various experiences and needs they may have. Current toolkits include guardianship and alternatives to guardianship, developmental disability program eligibility and services/supports, trauma-informed care, Ohio Medicaid, intellectual and developmental disability psychiatry, and your rights. Visit dodd.ohio.gov and search for the toolkit you need.
