Waivers and Services
Enrolling in a home and community-based services waiver is one way to access person-centered services. More than 40,000 Ohioans with developmental disabilities are enrolled in a waiver, with access to services while living on their own, with family, with a roommate, or with a paid caregiver.
Waiver Simplification Changes Effective July 1, 2022
DODD, in partnership with stakeholders, is implementing changes on July 1, 2022 to DODD administered waivers. These changes will increase self-direction, create more flexibility, and simplify the process for Ohioans with developmental disabilities, their families, and those who support them. Below are resource documents that provide an overview of the changes. Additional training videos will soon be added here, and DODD will host live chats soon.
DODD remains available and accessible during the transition to these waiver improvements. After reviewing the posted materials, please join us with questions at the upcoming live chats or email questions to waiverpolicyta@dodd.ohio.gov.
