Guidance: License Expiration Dates for Licensed Facilities

On March 13, the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) suspended all routine regulatory reviews, including licensure reviews. This means that some licensed residential facilities will not undergo a licensure review prior to the end of their current term license.

The Ohio House passed HB 197, the coronavirus (COVID-19) Legislative Response Package Bill, and it was signed into law by Governor Mike DeWine on March 27. The bill allows for the extension of all licenses issued by the State of Ohio under the authority of the Ohio Revised Code. This includes residential facility licenses.

The bill allows for the extension of state-issued licenses through November 30, 2020.

Based on that, all residential facility licenses issued by DODD have automatically been extended through November 30, 2020.

If you have questions about your residential facility license, you may contact the Office of System Support and Standards (OSSAS) at 614-466-6670.

Please be aware that this applies only to facility licenses and not to provider certifications.
