Grant Opportunities

DODD competitively awards grants for work that supports Ohio's developmental disabilities system and the department's mission of continuous improvement of the quality of life for Ohioans with developmental disabilities and their families. All competitive grants follow a similar award process with some variation due to the funding source and program structure.

All questions and application materials must be submitted to dodd.grant.applications@dodd.ohio.gov. Subject lines of emails must contain the applicant’s organization name and the project name identified on the Request for Proposal, known as an RFP.

Grant proposals, the Grant Application Form, and any other required documentation identified in this RFP must be submitted electronically to dodd.grant.applications@dodd.ohio.gov.

 Vision for Direct Support Professionals

Summary

 The purpose of this project is to implement a proposed plan to address one or more of the desired outcomes discussed in DODD’s Vision for DSPs, developed in January 2021, which include:  

•Inspire Confidence
•Reimagine Recruiting and Retaining
•Promote Career Paths
•Support and Encourage Empowerment
•Provide Quality Training

Entities Eligible to Apply

•County Boards of Developmental Disabilities or Councils of Government;
•Intermediate care facilities for individuals with developmental disabilities;
•An agency provider in Ohio that is certified by DODD, pursuant to OAC 5123:2-2-01; or
•Any organization that can demonstrate expertise in supporting the role of a DSP

Applicants shall not be subject to an “unresolved” finding for recovery under Section 9.24 of Ohio Revised Code.

Prospective proposers/applicants may make inquiries or seek clarifications about the requirements contained in this RFP. To ensure an open bid process is maintained, all inquiries regarding this RFP must be:

DODD will post responses to properly posed inquiries electronically by 05/18/2022 on the Grant Opportunities page of DODD’s website. Subject lines of emails must contain the applicant’s organization name and the project name identified on the front page of this RFP.
