County Board Member Training

Training aimed at supporting County Board Members.

Director John Martin has identified the following four topics for 2018 county board member in-service training

  • Supportive Technology
  • Ohio’s HCBS Waiver Waiting List
  • Key Statewide Data and the Data Warehouse
  • Cash Projections Tools

Based on the feedback of county board superintendents, the department will provide content outlines that support discussion for each of these four topics, which will include links to video clips, websites, and other resource materials.

Content outlines for supportive technology and Ohio's HCBS Waiver Waiting List are available now. The two final outlines will be made available by March 1, 2018.

The amount of time each content outline will take for review and discussion will vary. The requirement for board member training states only that board members are required to complete a minimum of four hours of in-service training, so other topics may be included beyond the four that the director has identified.

Please note, training offered for credit in the areas of adult services, SSA, or board member training provided by a county board of developmental disabilities, the Ohio Association of County Boards of Developmental Disabilities, or the Ohio Association of Superintendents of County Boards of Developmental Disabilities may be approved by a superintendent of a county board of developmental disabilities, and does not need department approval.
