March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month

Each year, Ohio celebrates Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, with many events and activities designed to foster a greater awareness and understanding of people who have developmental disabilities, focusing on their abilities and contributions to their communities. This year, the statewide kickoff event for DD Awareness Month is hosted by The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD), Ohio Public Images (OPI), and the Ohio Association of County Boards (OACB) at the Ohio Statehouse Atrium on March 4, from 10a.m. - noon. See below for additional information on this event.

During March, many activities also are sponsored locally by Ohio's 88 County Boards of Developmental Disabilities (www.oacbdd.org) and other service providers, and support the statewide theme that people with disabilities are "Just Like You." For more information, visit www.publicimagesnetwork.org, the website for Ohio Public Images."
